KICTANet is among ten awardees selected by the Women in the Digital Economy Fund (WiDEF) for their innovative solutions to tackling the gender digital divide.
The ten awardees – eight of whom are women-led – will receive financial support ranging from $500,000 to USD 1.5 million to scale up their solutions over the next two years to support.
For KICTANet, the “Empowering Kenya Rural Women Through Digital Literacy,” program will focus on enhancing digital inclusion for marginalized women across 10 rural counties by offering digital literacy training.
KICTANet’s success is a testament to WiDEF’s mission. As a collaborative effort by USAID, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Reliance Foundation, and the UPS Foundation, WiDEF is committed to closing the gender gap in the digital world. Their investment of over $80 million allows innovative local solutions like KICTANet’s to flourish, creating a more inclusive digital future for women around the globe.
