KICTANet in its leadership role as a champion for public interest policy and regulation held consultations with the new Director-General of the Communications Authority of Kenya Mr. Ezra Chiloba. They held discussions on various issues and trends in the ICT sector and proposals on future collaborations.
Among the issues discussed is how to provide internet to the marginalised through Community Networks, the role of the regulator in managing disinformation and fake news during elections, and the need to enhance KICTANet’s state of ICT in Kenya survey. CA is keen to continue evolving its model of doing things by observing the ICT sector changes and being futuristic in how regulations are used to allow the industry to thrive.
KICTANet was able to showcase some of its flagship programs, and publications to the new DG. KICTANet is grateful for the long-term partnership with CA.
