There is an emerging trend in Kenya to regulate professions. In the last
session of Parliament, there was a Biomedical Practitioners Bill and one or
two more while before there was Engineers Bill.
This trend is misinformed and it creates additional requirements for the
professionals and as Daktari said, stiffles innovation. You can be sure
that for instance, lawyers reaction to blockchain at the lands ministry
will be, conveyancing must be protected from non lawyers or something along
those lines…
