KICTANet responded to the National Assembly and the Senate’s call for public participation on the Amendment of Election Laws. The network expressed the views that technology used in the elections enhanced efficiency of the process. The parliament should therefore consider improving technology used in the elections to solve the identified problems rather than doing away with it. Technology is now key to service delivery, even in the public sector. The government should also use it to promote political participation and efficiency of the processes. KICTANet also raised concerns on data protection and made recommendations for the parliament to consider a policy framework for hosting citizen data like biometrics in the county through classification system.
